For instance, let’s say, you set a kephrase “pinecheese” in the ‘Key Phrase’ textbox. Later when you want to track your device on demand, you could either send a SMS from any mobile phone or an IM that contains the kyphrase. GTalk/Jabber - Ping2Locate allows remote tracking via its GTalk/Jabber IM Feature. With this feature, the user can send an IM pings from any Jabber client on another mobile phone or on a desktop or from any browser. The user can send the key phrase in the body of the IM and get back the crucial current location of the device along with key device parameters. The following preferences can be set by the user to control IM Request, IM Responses and IM Notifications
GTalk/Jabber Account - Ping2Locate uses the Google Account credentials provided by the user to allow lost/stolen/misplaced device to respond to incoming ping requests when contacted via remote SMS, IM and even local device triggers such as SIM card swap. The Google Account name and password is required to be provided by the user ONLY IF the user wishes to get IM responses/get notified via GTalk/Jabber. NOTE: Indyz Ping2Locate recognizes the importance of not only tracking the user’s lost/misplaced device from anywhere, anytime, any device using IM for free of cost but also are sensitive to user privacy. To this end, Indyz Ping2Locate takes careful measures in making sure that the user credentials entered in the device is kept in the device and not uploaded anywhere to our Location servers. Furthermore, we also don’t require the user to log in to the web while using the Ping2Locate Map Track feature from the web to track their lost/stolen/misplaced device. Google account name – Provide valid Google user ID (email format) that the device will use to send GTalk/Jabber responses/notifications Google account password - Provide valid Google password Here are all possible combinations of Responses triggered from IM.
Email - Ping2Locate allows users to be notified via Email using its Email feature.. Allow Email for Notification – When checked, the Ping2Locate app allows the device to send emails to a pre set email address. The email contains the URL (“tracking URL”) for tracking the lost/stolen/misplaced device in real time. Email notification address – The email address to which the tracking URL is sent to. Note: The SIM card alert is triggered when the SIM card is either removed or replaced.
Location server
Location Upload to server – Check this box to allow Ping2Locate Cloud service to offer tracking the device on a map on the web. Note: Only Location and device parameters such as Phone IMEI, Home/Roaming Operator, Latitude/Longitude etc will be uploaded. To this end, Indyz Ping2Locate takes careful measures in making sure that the user credentials entered in the device is kept in the device and not uploaded anywhere to our Location servers. Furthermore, we also don’t require the user to log in to the web while using the Ping2Locate Map Track feature from the web to track their lost/stolen/misplaced device. . Alert Actions – Ping2Locate allows remote alarming via its Audio Alarm Alert.
To generate a remote Audio Alarm alert the user needs to send a special word “alert” to be sent along with the kephrase. For more details see User Guide (PDF) e..g,
